THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE THERAPY

Deep tissue massage therapy is different to Swedish massage, the difference being the deeper tissues being addressed and specificity with the benefit of releasing chronic muscle tension. This deep massage works by physically breaking down adhesions (knots) to relieve pain and restore normal movement. Because the focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue and tendons. Problem areas are addressed using specific techniques that include: deep tissue, acupressure, trigger point, myofascial release, muscle energy technique and passive stretching. Powerful, slow, deep movements aid the release of shortened muscles. This type of massage is excellent for chronic pain, tightness, injuries, muscle spasms, body aches, headaches and more.

INJURIES ARE TREATED WITH A COMBINATION OF SPECIFIC STRENGTHENING AND STRETCHING EXERCISES AS WELL AS MASSAGE RELEASE TECHNIQUES. YOU WILL ALSO BE PRESCRIBED EXERCISES TO ASSIST IN YOUR RECOVERY TO DO AT HOME.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports Massage can be geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend warriors. The focus of the massage technique are specific to the athlete's sport of choice. This massage is targeting areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often harsh movements. Remedial massage therapy's core focus is on maintaining and recovering mobility while acting as a referee on the effects of recovery and long term heavy usage. This therapy is perfect for gearing up for that marathon you've been training to tackle or after that run you've been putting off every weekend for the past few months. Having a massage before your event will help prevent injury and increase your range of motion, while having your treatment after your sport will help relax and stop muscles from shortening which can lead to DOMs and further injury.
