THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE THERAPY
Deep tissue massage therapy is different to Swedish massage, the difference being the deeper tissues being addressed and specificity with the benefit of releasing chronic muscle tension. This deep massage works by physically breaking down adhesions (knots) to relieve pain and restore normal movement. Because the focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue and tendons. Problem areas are addressed using specific techniques that include: deep tissue, acupressure, trigger point, myofascial release, muscle energy technique and passive stretching. Powerful, slow, deep movements aid the release of shortened muscles. This type of massage is excellent for chronic pain, tightness, injuries, muscle spasms, body aches, headaches and more.
INJURIES ARE TREATED WITH A COMBINATION OF SPECIFIC STRENGTHENING AND STRETCHING EXERCISES AS WELL AS MASSAGE RELEASE TECHNIQUES. YOU WILL ALSO BE PRESCRIBED EXERCISES TO ASSIST IN YOUR RECOVERY TO DO AT HOME.
